If you're coming back from an ACL

Nine of these twenty reviews mention a knee surgery, an ACL, or going looking for a specialist. Here are the ones who said it most plainly.

“I wanted to work with someone who specializes in ACL recovery… I was very impressed when I saw that he does ‘strength testing.’”

I tore my ACL/meniscus 11 months ago on the job as a Wildland Firefighter. It was devastating to say the least, I had no clue what journey I was about to endure. I got reconstructive surgery 10 months ago. During the first 3 months of my Physical Therapy through a worker's comp clinic, I just felt like I wasn't doing “enough” and wanted to work with someone who specializes in ACL recovery. I began my research and found Dr. Ziad (who goes by “Z”) via Instagram. I was very impressed when I saw that he does “strength testing” which consists of measuring quad/hamstring strength progress with special tools and exercises. I knew I was headed in the right direction. I reached out and we had a consultation call, soon we secured a evaluation date. I've been under the treatment of Z for 7 months now and I truly believe it has been the best investment in my health I could have ever done. For my career, my body is my paycheck.. I needed to be 100% sure I'd be taken care of and my expectations have been exceeded with everyone at Ignite Phyzio. During your session you will be pushed, you will be challenged, but it's for the better! Put in the work now, and reap the benefits later.

“The extra money is well worth it compared to an in-network PT that may not be a specialist in your injury.”

I came to see Dr. Z three days after ACL surgery and have been working with him since. I'm currently 7-months post surgery and could not be more confident as I get ready to head back to the activities I love.

What attracted me to working with Dr. Z was how personable, honest, and transparent he was with me on our initial consultation call. I've experienced the same care the entire time I've worked with him.

He's always been encouraging, answers all my questions, pushes me when I need it, and helps me dial back when I'm being too aggressive.

I've appreciated the additional work he's given me to do on my own as well. The extra money is well worth it compared to an in-network PT that may not be a specialist in your injury.

“He does not operate based off ‘elapsed time’ post surgery as humans are all different.”

Dr. Z is hands down the person you want to go to for your physical therapy needs. He does a personalized assessment to get a good feel of each individual's strengths and weaknesses and then creates a plan based off that. There is no one size fits all and he does not operate based off “elapsed time” post surgery as humans are all different. He is super knowledgeable on ACL injuries. I only wished he operated closer to where I lived so I could go to him more often!

“At just 3 months post-op, I've seen huge progress.”

I can't recommend Ignite Phyzio enough!!! I've been going there for the past 3 months following my ACL surgery, and the experience has been incredible from day one.

Sessions are truly 1-on-1, working with Kristi has made all the difference in my recovery. At just 3 months post-op, I've seen huge progress thanks to how thoughtfully she's guided me every step of the way. Each session includes a great mix of manual therapy, mobility work, and strength training and nothing ever feels generic. Everything is clearly tailored to my specific needs and how I'm progressing week to week.

Ignite has a wide range of clients and provides a welcoming environment the minute you step in. Highly recommend for any of your injury or sport performance needs.

“At 8 weeks my surgeon was so impressed with my progress.”

I would highly recommend Ignite Phyzio!! Will, my therapist was awesome! I started my PT with him one week after surgery and at 8 weeks my surgeon was so impressed with my progress. I can't recommend this PT enough and thanks to Will and his team for all of their help!!!

“If you're looking for experts that help you understand your ACL rehab process and get you back to doing what you love, then look no further.”

Dr. Z and his team are the best! Informative, diligent, hard working, innovative, practiced, passionate, understanding, fun and genuinely care for their clients. If you're looking for experts that help you understand your ACL rehab process and get you back to doing what you love, then look no further. When you fill out the questionnaire sheet at the initial consult compared to the end of your programming, the results really just speak for themselves. YOU have to do the work but with this team as a guide, you'll get back to doing the things you love. Even someone as clumsy as myself. ;) Much gratitude for everything.

“If you're recovering from an ACL injury (or any injury), I cannot recommend Ignite Phyzio highly enough.”

I truly appreciate the consistent attention to detail, clear communication, and genuine support I received here. If you're recovering from an ACL injury (or any injury), I cannot recommend Ignite Phyzio highly enough. Their professionalism, knowledge, and dedication truly set them apart.

If physical therapy hasn't worked for you before

Five of these reviews start the same way — someone else's PT didn't get them there.

“Things that took 8 weeks to gain 25% of function at other outpatient clinics I was able to do in just 3-4 visits.”

Where to start..Ziad has helped me with a ton of ailments from neck, back, hip, knee, and ankle pains. He's definitely one of a kind that will actually get you results!! How tedious and frustrating it was to go to hospital rehabs and outpatient clinics that don't prioritize you; visiting Ziad is a complete 360. Things that took 8 weeks to gain 25% of function at other outpatient clinics I was able to do in just 3-4 visits. Huge benefit to visit someone who's practical and functional to get you to where you need to be effectively!

“My first measurements revealed some serious imbalances.”

I worked with Kevin for almost a full year and my experience was exceptional. I originally sought some help for chronic pain in my hip and back that was interfering with my sleep, my daily activity, and just my overall quality of life. Kevin listened to all my ramblings about my various pain and started addressing each of them in turn. The facility has a machine which can measure and track strength differences of all your different muscles, and my first measurements revealed some serious imbalances. Using my descriptions of what was bothering me plus the data from the measurements, Kevin created a personalized treatment plan for me.

In addition to the treatment i received during my appointments, Kevin also created a workout plan for me to do at home. We worked together to dial in how many days/week and how many hours I could dedicate to working out, and Kevin created a plan thag fit my specific needs. I was very impressed.

As time went on, Kevin would modify the program weekly and as needed to address minor aches/pains or new things that would come up. I also really appreciated that Kevin was always available and responsive. If i had a question, i could just text him and he would help.

Towards the end of my year with Kevin, the pain that I had been suffering from for nearly four years had greatly subsided. But more than that, my mobility, strength, and ability to move through the world and live my life had all greatly improved. As my abilities improved, Kevin modified the workouts to be more functional and reflect my goals, whether that be playing with my dog, lifting weights in the gym, or any other activities i was interested in.

All in all, i would highly recommend Ignite Physio, and especially Kevin. The only reason i ended my sessions was because i am moving across the country. Sometimes, i think it can be difficult to find a provider that really listens and understands, and that is what I found with Kevin.

I cant speak highly enough of my experience. Make the smart decision for yourself, your life, and your future.

“My regular rest and PT just weren't cutting it.”

I came to Ignite and Will in particular on a friend's recommendation after struggling with recovery of my MCL. I had injured myself and after 8-9 months was still struggling to train BJJ without aggravating the injury. My regular rest and PT just weren't cutting it.

Will took everything to a deeper level and miraculously got me back to where I was prior to injury, then took me farther. With the training program I became more robust and resilient first, then we focused on strength and performance. He was also always available when I managed to come up with newer injuries, working me through stretches and exercises to get me back on the mats as quickly as possible.

“I've done PT in the past, but haven't had much success.”

So. Much. Relief.

I had a series of aches and pains with no known cause. I've done PT in the past, but haven't had much success. The difference is that Dr. Ziad does a really thorough consultation to assess all your weaknesses and/or mobility issues. From there, he creates an exercise plan to strengthen those muscles or loosen them up. I learned a lot about my body, proper form, and necessary upkeep to live a healthy and pain-free life. I can't recommend him more! Easily the most easy-going, honest and genuine health professional I've ever worked with.

“Even though I am a registered nurse, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of physical therapy.”

My brother who has been doing CrossFit for 9 years recommended Ignite Phyzio to me. I had pain in my right shoulder doing bodyweight exercises like push-ups and pull ups. The discomfort started affecting my daily life as well. It was difficult for me to carry my son and even put my jacket on.

I began seeing Ziad in January. From the first consultation, I could tell that he is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his clients. Within a couple of days, he sent me some exercises to do. They were easy to follow and didn't require a lot of equipment. I was even able to do some at work from my desk. He also sent a google doc with links to videos on how to properly execute the exercises which was very helpful.

Even though I am a registered nurse, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of physical therapy. I was also afraid that it would be painful. After 2 months, I realize that this couldn't be further from the truth. I'm so glad I went to see Ziad because now I am pain free. Last week, my brother and I competed in a CrossFit competition and won first place. I can honestly say that Ziad had a big part in that for the both of us.

Thank you Ziad for providing such great care!

If the goal is getting back to your sport

Marathons, CrossFit, baseball, jiu jitsu, college softball. What the finish line actually looked like.

“I'm happy to say I'm back to running and will be working towards my next marathon.”

Ziad is an all-around excellent physical therapist that addresses your main concerns and root cause(s) of injury, explains how to move in a less injury-prone and more efficient manner, and implements a solid training plan to ensure that you return to enjoying the things you love to do. Ziad makes himself very available to my questions and adapts my personalized plan based on my feedback and any deficits that present themselves along the way. Plus, it helps that Ziad is very personable and cracks some jokes when you're sweating through challenging exercises. After going through some knee issues arising from problems up and down the chain (hip, ankle), I'm happy to say I'm back to running and will be working towards my next marathon. I highly recommend him to anyone that would like to move with ease and feel their best!

“It's been four sessions and I already feel a noticeable difference in my running.”

I started coming here two weeks ago because I hurt my Achilles tendon while training for a half marathon. Within the first two sessions, I learned so much about the mechanics of the foot and how the different parts of the leg work together. I so appreciated the time the trainer took to explain the mechanics to help me better understand what I should be feeling and what to focus on during the exercises he was giving me to do. It's been four sessions and I already feel a noticeable difference in my running.

Aside from the incredible care I've received so far, the environment of the place itself is noteworthy. This is my first experience needing PT and I was nervous going into it. I'm not a big gym person and was feel slightly intimidated since this is a bit out of my comfort zone. But from the second you walk in, the vibes are immaculate. Every person on staff is so kind, welcoming, and approachable, and the owner, Ziad, is amazing. I highly recommend this spot!

“He is helping me come back from a labrum injury… on my journey to coming back to baseball.”

I have had a pleasure of being a client of Ziad. I would 100% recommend coming to ignite pyhzio, not only because they are one of the best physical therapy programs but also because Ziad is an amazing person. He is helping me come back from a labrum injury and I wouldn't want to have anyone but Ziad help me along my journey to coming back to baseball.

“Dr. Ziad is our go-to medical professional prior to seeing an ortho or PCP.”

Dr. Ziad is amazing! My daughter (college softball) and my son (baseball and football) have gone to Ziad for the past 3 years. He cares for her patients, he cares about their health. He is honest and realistic in regards to getting my kids back on the field after injury. Dr. Ziad is our go-to medical professional prior to seeing an ortho or PCP. He has great reach with other surgeons and specialist so he always leads us in the right direction!!!

“As an athlete, I am often in need of routine maintenance.”

Z is the real deal! Not only is he highly knowledgeable, but he is extremely compassionate and sincere in his approach. He listens to what you have to say, thoroughly evaluates your range of motion and movement patterns and develops an effective plan of action. As an athlete, I am often in need of routine maintenance. I recognize the importance of keeping my body healthy so that I can continue to do the sport I love. I am thankful that Z acknowledges and understands my needs and wants, and works with me to help optimize my performance and minimize my pain. I initially came to see him for sacrolumbar pain that had flared up after a previous injury. Z has provided me with an evolving set of exercises as well as quality hands on treatment that have helped keep my pain at bay. While treating my back, he also took the time to address a shoulder impingement that I had worked around for about a year. After assessing my shoulder, Z provided a course of action for me to follow that involved stretching overly tight muscles and strengthening others that were underdeveloped. Within a few weeks, I was happily back performing exercises pain free that I had avoided for so long. If you are in need of a physical therapist, Z is an amazing choice! He will do whatever he can to make your experience convenient, enjoyable and effective!!

“It's not just about the physical work Ziad does, it's the knowledge, professionalism, and expertise.”

It's not just about the physical work Ziad does, it's the knowledge, professionalism, and expertise. I visited him as part of my rehabilitation therapy regiment after sustaining neck pain and hand numbness I experienced due to mixed martial arts training. The timing was perfect in first meeting Zaid during his consultation seminar visit to my Jiu Jitsu school. Initially, he was able to identify several potential sources of my injuries and how to mitigate them. I subsequently signed up for one of his programs where he provided several reflex treatments at his office as well as self initiating routines to follow at home between visits. As I described my aches and pains throughout my visits, he was able to not only identify the source but was very knowledgable of the terminology of the affected areas quickly citing them. He also explained how and why the pain existed and recommendations to return back to normalcy over time.

This a place to go to for people who are serious about returning your body to a level of comfort and normalcy. Not only do they treat but they also have a wealth of knowledge and resources that are strongly encouraged to follow beyond visits that can be done at your own pace. Lastly, Zaid is one who has a wealth of cultural, sports, and manual labor knowledge and empathy which can be very helpful in building a level of trust during your visits. He demonstrates a high level of care for his clients.
